Chem-Pruf's® Fire Rated Series door has been successfully tested and certified for fire ratings up to 90 minutes.  Utilizing the same corrosion resistant properties of Chem-Pruf's® Standard door, this door series has been designed to meet Fire Code requirements in every type of industry where aesthetics, durability, and corrosion are a major concern.

Technical Information

Chem-Pruf® is listed by Intertek Testing Services/Warnock Hersey as a manufacturer and machiner of fire-rated fiberglass reinforced plastic doors and door frames, and is authorized to produce and supply labeled fire doors and door frames with the following ratings:
¾ Hour, 1 Hour, 1 ½ Hour, as tested to ASTM E-152, UL 10(b), CAN 4-104, (ULC-S104), NFPA 252, and UBC 43-2 Fire Door Test Standards.

All certified Chem-Pruf® door and door frame assemblies are identified by a Warnock Hersey Certification label, which shows the WHI logo and the hourly rating of the product.

Chem-Pruf®'s fire-rated doors are manufactured for flame retardation using antimony compounds.  The doors are composed of glass mats reinforced with corrosion and heat resistant, halogenated flame-retardant polyester resins, and filled with mineral core.

Bottom Notes:

1) Fire-rated steel doors can corrode from the inside, and you may never know that the door integrity is compromised until you need it.  Chem-Pruf® fire-rated doors and door frames are chemically engineered to withstand corrosion, so as to fulfill the necessary function of protecting life and property in the case of a fire.

Don't settle for a fire-rated door just because it is approved.  A door that is approved could mean that it is made up of components that are individually listed, but was never actually tested and certified as an end-product assembly.  Chem-Pruf®'s fire-rated door assemblies have actually undergone, and successfully passed, a complete fire-test.  This includes a rigorous hose-stream test, as specified in NFPA 252, which evaluates the integrity of the door after it has been burned.  Consequently, Chem-Pruf®'s labeled fire-rated doors are not only approved, but also listed by Intertek Testing Services/Warnock Hersey.
